We are building Africa's fleet
intelligence layer
Founded in Rwanda. Built for African realities. Expanding across the continent.
A multi-billion-dollar structural inefficiency
Across Africa, fleets operate in the dark. Fuel accounts for 30–45% of total operating costs — and a significant fraction of it is stolen, wasted, or unaccounted for. Vehicles break down without warning. Driver behavior drives up wear, insurance costs, and accident rates. Data exists — in devices, spreadsheets, and paper logs — but it's fragmented, unreliable, and unusable for decisions.
This is not a technology gap. It's a structural inefficiency embedded in how African fleet operations have been run for decades. No platform existed that was designed specifically for African connectivity conditions, African operational realities, and the African fleet owner's actual cost structure.
Sawa exists to change that.

Founded in Rwanda. Built for Africa.
Sawa Telematics was founded in Kigali, Rwanda — not because Rwanda is Africa's largest market, but because it is the continent's most rigorous proving ground. Rwanda's regulatory environment, its transport infrastructure, its mix of urban and rural terrain, and its position as a hub for regional logistics made it the ideal place to build and validate a fleet intelligence platform that actually works for African operators.
We saw an opportunity that global telematics companies had missed: building not for stable networks and predictable infrastructure, but for Africa's actual reality — multi-network fallback, offline data buffering, hardware flexibility, and analytics designed to drive cost reduction rather than just data collection.
Today, Sawa is trusted by Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Defence Force, Rwanda Investigation Bureau, Move Plus, Volkswagen Rwanda, TABS Logistics, Zamura Feeds, and Safe Travel Kigali. More than 2,000 vehicles are connected to the platform, generating over 6 million data points per day.
This is Phase 1. The continent is Phase 2 and beyond.
Vision
To become Africa's most trusted fleet intelligence platform — enabling safer, more efficient, and more profitable mobility across the continent.
Mission
To deliver reliable telematics, actionable insights, and integrated fleet services that reduce operational costs and unlock value for fleet owners in Africa.
Three versions. One vision.
