Driver Ability Score (DAS)
The DriverAbility Score is Sawa Telematics' comprehensive metric for assessing driver performance, safety, and compliance. By integrating real-time driving behavior data with historical records of infractions, the DriverAbility Score provides a holistic view of driving risk. This score allows fleet operators, insurers, and individual drivers to monitor, assess, and improve safety and responsibility on the road.
How is the Driver Ability Score Calculated?
Sawa Telematics DAS: DriveAbility Score (ranges from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating safer, more responsible driving) taking into consideration the following Parameters:
- A: Harsh Acceleration Events - sudden, aggressive acceleration events
- B: Harsh Braking Events - abrupt, forceful braking events
- S: Speeding Events - instances of exceeding speed limits
- H: Harsh Turning Events - sharp or erratic turns that suggest risky cornering
- F: Traffic Fines/Tickets - infractions recorded through traffic tickets or fines
- M: Driven Distance - total distance driven (in kilometers or miles)
- T: Time-of-Day Risk Factor - driving during high-risk periods (e.g., night or rush hours)
- Weights are assigned to each driving metric, representing the risk level associated with each type of event.
